What it is
Started in February 2019, PM-KISAN pays ₹6,000 a year to farmer families, in three instalments of ₹2,000 sent straight to their bank accounts.
Who can benefit
- Farmer families who own cultivable land in their name. Income-tax payers, institutional land holders and some professionals are excluded.
How to apply
- 1Register at pmkisan.gov.in (New Farmer Registration) or at a CSC.
- 2Complete e-KYC and link Aadhaar to your bank account, or instalments stop.
- 3Check your status under ‘Know Your Status’ on the same site.
Our position
The farmer feeds the nation; the money reaches him without a middleman, in full. That is what direct benefit transfer has changed.
